Volunteers Are the Heart of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell

Volunteers are the foundation of everything we do. Through the generous gift of your time and talents, we are able to build and preserve safe, affordable homes for individuals and families throughout the Greater Lowell community.

Whether you’re interested in working on a construction site, supporting special events, serving on a committee, or helping in another capacity, there’s a place for you at Habitat.

Once you’ve registered with our organization, you’ll be added to our volunteer list, and we’ll reach out as opportunities become available. We look forward to welcoming you to the Habitat family and making a lasting impact together.

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

CONSTRUCTION

No experience necessary! Volunteering on one of our build sites is a great HANDS ON way for individuals to become involved and learn more about the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell.

Whether you are interested in acquiring new skills or putting existing building skills to work, we welcome you at our build sites. We will provide all the safety equipment, tools, and instruction to help out.

Volunteers must be age 18+. For interested volunteers under 18, please contact gro.tatibahllewol@nylesor.

OFFICE SUPPORT

Occasionally, we have a need for friendly, cheerful volunteers to input data, shred documents, assist with labeling, stuffing, and sorting mailings for special events or appeals, and other administrative needs.

As volunteer opportunities become available, we’ll reach out by email with details. You’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the dates and activities that work best for your schedule—there’s no obligation to participate every time.

FUNDRAISING SUPPORT

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell is growing our Events & Development efforts, and we’re looking for passionate volunteers to support our fundraising & events.

We’re looking for individuals who can support us in two main areas:

➡️ Day-of event support: Helping onsite with check-in, guest experience, logistics, set-up, breakdown, and raffles.

➡️ Fundraising support: Outreach for sponsorships, raffle items, community partners, and donor engagement.

LUNCH SPONSOR

Provide Lunch for a Build Day Team. Support our volunteers by providing a simple lunch for a local business or corporate team participating in a sponsored Build Day (typically 15–20 volunteers). This is a meaningful way for groups to support Habitat for Humanity, even if construction isn’t the right fit for everyone.

Providing lunch helps keep our volunteers energized while showing your appreciation for the time and effort they’re giving to help build safe, affordable homes in our community.

CRITICAL HOME REPAIR VOLUNTEER(S) (moderate level of construction experience required)

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell’s Critical Home Repair program offers assistance to qualified seniors, veterans and families to help alleviate health, safety and code violations. This program is part of an ongoing effort to meet Habitat’s mission that everyone should have a decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. From building ramps and repairing flooring to weatherization and other critical updates, skilled volunteers like you play a vital role in making this work possible.

To join our CHR team, please email our CHR Manager, gro.tatibahllewol@ycnan, with information that will help us learn more about your experience, skills, and availability so we can match you with projects where you can make the greatest impact. Because CHR projects often require hands-on construction knowledge, we ask that volunteers are 18 or older and have some level of construction or home repair experience.

Please Note: This type of volunteer program would be ongoing, as each project changes our CHR Manager would reach out to see if you are available for a specific project. Projects are all subject to change as each project is unique. We are looking for volunteers who would like to commit to this team rather than one time only. This can be discussed when our CHR Manager reaches out to talk with you. We do appreciate and thank you for your consideration of this opportunity and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, all volunteers are required to complete and sign a Release and Waiver of Liability before participating in volunteer activities.

Help Build More Homes

While there is no required fee to volunteer, many individuals and groups choose to make a donation to help support the costs associated with building affordable homes. Individual contributions typically range from $25 to $200 per person, and corporate sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations looking to bring a team.

Every contribution, regardless of size, directly supports our mission and helps make affordable homeownership possible for families in the Greater Lowell community.
